The short version: Vessel is built on the belief that your data belongs to you. We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not require an account. Your hydration data lives on your device and in your personal iCloud — no one else can access it.

1. Information We Collect

Vessel does not collect any personally identifiable information. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials.

The following anonymous, non-identifiable data is collected to help us improve the app:

Usage Data (via Firebase Analytics)

Anonymous information about how users interact with the app — such as which screens are visited and which features are used. This data cannot be linked back to you as an individual.

Crash Reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)

When the app crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent to help us identify and fix bugs. This includes device type, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash. No personal information is included.

Performance Data (via Firebase Performance)

Anonymous data about app performance — such as launch time and response times — to help us keep Vessel fast and reliable.

2. Your Hydration Data

All hydration data you log in Vessel — your intake entries, goals, custom drinks, and reminders — is stored exclusively on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account.

We cannot access your hydration data
Your data is never transmitted to our servers
iCloud sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure under their privacy policy
Deleting the app removes all local data from your device

3. How We Use Collected Data

The anonymous analytics and diagnostic data we collect is used solely for:

Understanding which features are most useful so we can improve them
Identifying and fixing crashes and bugs
Monitoring app performance and stability

We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, or selling to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring. Firebase collects anonymous, aggregated data. View Google's Privacy Policy.

Apple iCloud

Optional iCloud sync is handled entirely by Apple. View Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Linked to You

Vessel does not link any collected data to your identity. All analytics and diagnostic data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention policies. Your personal hydration data stored on-device or in iCloud is retained until you delete the app or clear your iCloud data.

7. Children's Privacy

Vessel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal profile to access, modify, or delete. To remove all data:

Delete the app to remove all local data from your device
Remove Vessel data from iCloud via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Vessel after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
